Respiratory Problems

Respiratory problems are a general term that encompasses various respiratory problems such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, labored breathing etc. In obese patients, this is due to a reduction in size of the lungs, low oxygen supply, and difficulty raising the chest wall. Asthma and bronchitis often occurs from the seeping of stomach into the lungs in the severely obese.

Symptoms of Respiratory Problems:

  • Wheezing
  • Coughing
  • Fatigue

There are many medicines used to treat such respiratory problems such as asthma and bronchitis. These medicines work by relaxing bronchospasms or reducing inflammation. Reducing and maintain a healthy weight greatly reduces most respiratory problems in obese individuals.
